Philosophy
Nothing in a house is looked at more and noticed less than the floor. Done well it disappears — light travels across it evenly, the grain or veining reads as one continuous field, and transitions arrive where the architecture wants them. Done poorly it announces itself every day: a hollow board underfoot, a lippage line catching the afternoon sun, a cut tile stranded in a doorway.
So we treat flooring as a craft, not a commodity delivered by the square foot. The substrate is flattened and moisture-tested. The material is racked, dry-laid, and sequenced before it is fastened. The plan is drawn so the pattern centers on the sightline you actually walk through. That discipline costs a few days at the front of the job and buys twenty years of quiet at the back of it.

White oak in long, wide boards — rift-and-quartered where the grain matters, racked out of several bundles so no two adjacent planks repeat. Subfloors are flattened and moisture-tested before the first board lands, because a beautiful floor laid over a bad substrate telegraphs every flaw within a season.

We sand, stain, and finish in place rather than relying on factory bevels to hide a rough install. The result is a single continuous plane with no micro-grooves collecting dust, custom-toned to your millwork and cabinetry, sealed in thin coats with hardwax oil or a commercial-grade waterborne finish.

Marble, limestone, and book-matched porcelain slab laid to a drawn plan so veining runs through the room instead of stopping at a threshold. Tiles are dry-laid and sequenced before any thinset is mixed, then set to a full mortar bed with tight, honed joints and hand-polished edges.

Large-format porcelain, wood-look plank, and handset patterns — herringbone, chevron, running bond — set over properly detailed uncoupling and crack-isolation membranes. Layouts are centered to sightlines and doorways so cuts land where nobody looks, never where everybody does.

Timelines & what an installation asks of you
A single-floor hardwood installation with site finishing typically takes two to four weeks; stone and large-format tile, one to three weeks per area depending on layout complexity and setting method. Material lead times and cure times set that pace more often than labor does, which is why selections are finalized before anything is ordered. You receive a written schedule with milestone dates before we begin, and we hold to one project at a time.
Slab-on-grade homes across North Dallas move, and post-tension slabs need to be read before anything is fastened or cored. We grind and patch to flatness tolerance, moisture-test, and install uncoupling or crack-isolation membranes under stone and tile so a hairline in the slab does not become a crack in your floor.
Dust barriers seal the work area and pathways are protected from the front door inward. Site finishing means a short stretch of restricted access while coats cure, and we sequence rooms so you keep a usable path through the house. Materials are staged outside your living space, and the site is swept at the end of every day.
Your scope of work is documented and signed before we start, so the figure does not drift. Preparation, transitions, base and shoe replacement, and haul-away are written in rather than added later. Installation and finish work are covered by a written workmanship warranty handed over at the final walkthrough.
